Geoffrey Wilson is a Managing Director at Whitehall focused on structured and project finance and M&A advisory.
Previously, for 13 years, Mr. Wilson was a Managing Director at McManus & Miles, a boutique investment bank providing advisory and placement services for M&A and structured financings in the electric power industry. There, he was responsible for the origination, structuring, analysis, negotiation and execution of various types of transactions including sales and acquisitions of power assets, leveraged leases, partnerships flips, power contract restructurings, like-kind exchanges and lease restructurings. The M&A and structured financings involved a range of power assets including coal-fired, gas-fired and nuclear power plants as well as wind, solar, geothermal and biomass power facilities.
Mr. Wilson served as the team leader and point person for the execution of a number of transactions, including:
the sale of the 155 MW Auburndale cogeneration facility for ArcLight
the $1.3 billion sale-leaseback of Unit 1 of the Bruce Mansfield coal-fired facility for FirstEnergy
the $1.7 billion sale-leaseback financing of phases II – V of the Alta Wind Energy Center for Terra-Gen Power.
Prior to joining McManus & Miles, Mr. Wilson worked at Merrill Lynch in the Global Energy and Power Group. Before Merrill Lynch, he was a member of the Specialized Lease Finance Group at Bank of America where he worked primarily on lease partnerships with disproportionate allocations.
